Background
This article is just a short description of the MyCity emails driver and the Email Client Protocol driver and the basic use differences.

Introduction
In many cases, the user would like to interface, from the Adroit SCADA to an email server.
There are two options available for this:
MyCity emails driver
Email Client Protocol driver

However, their functions and therefore uses are mutually exclusive.
Herewith are some details.

MyCity emails driver
MyCity emails driver is purely for inputs via IMAP connection (email)
This means the reading of emails – not sending them.
Also note that when using this communication protocol this driver must have sole control of the IMAP server.

Email Client Protocol driver
In order to be sending emails, you will use the Email Client Protocol driver
This protocol can be used to send mails
Total and maximum amount characters in email body must be less than 220 characters.

Driver Files
Driver files are typicall found in this directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adroit Technologies\Adroit\Drivers
Driver files typically come in sets of 3:

However, in some cases the inf file will be missing.
This is the setup information file - used from the Configuration setup to install the driver.

If this file is missing - then the driver can be manually added by copying it (.dll file) in the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adroit Technologies\Adroit

Driver Installation Information:
Just a small note when it comes to the installation of drivers.
A driver is said to be installed if it appears in the driver menu, and is ready to create an instance of, called a device.

There are two ways to install a driver.
The recommended and most popular method, typically used by end-users, is installing it via the configurator.
This is typically the case when the driver is accompanied by the .inf File:

The alternative method would be to manually copy it in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Adroit Technologies\Adroit directory.
Then it will appear as an installed driver:
