Troubleshooting when Adtech Licensing Utility is unable to open or read a v2c file when applying a license or generating a c2v file
Keep in mind always make sure you apply the v2c file on the correct HASP or machine (Soft License) that the c2v file was generated from.
If Adtech Licensing Utility reports that it is unable to open or read a v2c file, you can check the following below:
- Does the current logged on user have the correct security rights to the v2c file or folder that it is in?
If it doesn’t, then you might want to apply the correct security rights to the v2c file or folder its in for the current logged on user, or copy this v2c file to a newly created Temp folder like C:\Temp and try apply the v2c file again.
- Check if the Windows Platform FIPS validated crytogaphic algorithms is not enabled in the registry via the Registry Editor:
Change the Enabled registry key from 1 to 0 here :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FipsAlgorithmPolicy Its 0 (disabled) by default. This is a very rare case that this registry setting is enabled.
- You can try run Adtech Licensing Utility as Administrator by right clicking the Adtech Licensing Utility icon and clicking Run as Administrator and then apply the v2c file.
- The v2c file may have been altered or corrupted during delivery or by third party software. In this case, you may want to request another copy of the v2c file via alternate means.
