Unable to connect the Agent Server Configurator to a Remote PC

A common problem when unable to connect the configurator to a Remote PC is due to Windows Security. In short: both PCs must be on the same network, have file browse access to the other with the same username and password for the configurator to connect .

To check this:

From the Designer/Configurator machine

  1. Open Windows Explorer OR WindowsKey+R to open a run dialog
  2. Type in \\PCNAME (where PC Name is the Agent Server PC)
  3. Normally a username/password dialog should popup
  4. Type in the username and password and click remember credentials (this last bit is important for the credential manager to save the access details)
  5. An explorer window should open with file/browse access to the other PC

From the Agent Server PC

  1. Follow the same steps as per above
  2. Once this is done, the Configurator should connect correctly
